Author Guidelines

Journal of Engineering and Technology Education (JETE) 

              Journal of Engineering and Technology Education (JETE) is an international scientific journal that publishes research articles, observations, and study reports related to engineering and technology education. The journal's main focus includes pedagogical innovation, curriculum, learning methods, technology integration in engineering education, student competency development, and evaluation of the effectiveness of engineering education programs at various levels of education. JETE aims to be a forum for discussion, researchers, and practitioners to share empirical findings, educational theories, and best practices in order to improve the quality of engineering and technology education globally.

 

Instructions for authors

  1. Articles submitted to JETE are original manuscripts in the field of pedagogical innovation, curriculum, learning methods, technology integration in engineering education, student competency development, and evaluation of the effectiveness of engineering education programs at various levels of education that have not been published in any national or international journals and / or are not being proposed to be published in proceedings or other journals.
  2. Abstracts written within 250 words. Each keyword contains two to three words. Keyword contents are written in Times new roman font with size 12 pts.
  3. The article is original work and not the result of plagiarism, it must be proven by the original statement of the work.
  4. Articles accepted contain a minimum of 30% plagiarism.
  5. Articles typed in English with Microsoft Word programs with doc, docx, or rtf file types, Times new roman letters, size 12 pts, space 1 with A4 paper format and 10-15 pages.
  6. Tables or diagrams are displayed not in JPG format. Meanwhile, the displayed image display is in good resolution for viewing or reading.
  7. Articles follow the style of writing and bibliography according to the JETE guidance template that has been provided.
  8. Articles reviewed by blind review by peer-reviewers (least two reviewers) who have been appointed in accordance with their field. The author of the article is given an opportunity to improve the article on the recommendation of the reviewers or the editor. The decision to publish or reject an article will be notified via the author's account and email.
  9. The bibliography is written using Mendeley, Zoreto or other relevant software with IEEE style. Bibliography of at least 30 references with provisions of 70% from national and international journals.

Systematic Articles

  1. The title should be short and able to reflect from the subject matter, specific, and effective. The title is written in 12 to 17 words in English. The title is written in capital letters at the beginning of each word and placed in the middle. The font used is Times new roman with size 12.
  2. Author's name is listed without an academic degree, along with the institution's name and affiliation (name of institution, address, zip code, country name), and correspondence or e-mail address. The author's name is placed under the title of the article with Times new roman 12 bold print. The author's affiliate description uses numbers without brackets and superscript. Example: (Abdullah Fatahi1 & Hendra Nuryadi2)
  3. Abstracts are written in English with a maximum length of 250 words that contain the key issues, research objectives, methods and research results written in a concise, clear, self-contained whole and fully illustrate the essence of the whole writing. Number of 3-5 word keywords or word combination.
  4. Keywords reflect the concept of related articles, straightforward, and informative.
  5. Introduction contains the background of the problem, the research context, the results of the literature review, research novelty, and the research objectives. The introductory section is presented in an integrated manner in the form of paragraphs.
  6. Research Method describes the research design, research sample, time and place, data collection techniques, research instruments, research concept (research diagram) and data analysis techniques.
  7. Results and Discussion Results and Discussion contain a detailed description of all research results accompanied by analysis. The results can be supplemented with tables, graphs, pictures and/or charts. Tables, graphs and charts are not displayed in JPG format. The discussion contains analysis and synthesis of research data reinforced by theory and/or results of similar research.
  8. Conclusion contains a brief summary or essence of research results in the form of research findings in the form of answers to research questions. In the conclusion section should also put forward the implications of research results for the development of science and technology. The conclusions are presented in paragraph form.
  9. The References List uses the APA Standard system containing the resources referred to in the article. Referral sources used are 80% of primary sources such as scientific journals (National and International) or research reports and are published in the last 10 years.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
  7. Bibliography and citations are conducted by using application reference such as mendeley, zotero, etc.
